You’re feeling like shit. You need a solution. We’ll skip the small talk- here are three ways to get happy right now:
- Plan something
Give yourself something to look forward to, or a goal to work towards. Buy a plane ticket somewhere for 4 months from now- doesn’t need to be extravagant, just a weekend trip will do. Sign up for a half marathon/10k/5k and plan out your training. Reach out to a friend and plan on grabbing pizza at that new place with the cute patio. Put the date in your calendar and BOOM: you’ve got yourself a little bright spot in your future. Let me know when you’ve done this- better yet, include me in your plans. I’ll totally go to yoga with you next week (or Iceland next August?).
- Help someone
Want to feel good about yourself? Donate to a good cause. You’ve immediately become part of the solution! You seem like you care about things! This is a great place to start.

- Go outside and breathe deeply
This sounds like a no-brainer, but take a quick break from whatever you’re doing to walk around, check in with your breath, and maybe get a little bit of sunshine (depending on where you are in the world… if it’s too cold, just walk around inside or stretch!). Bonus points if you do a few jumping jacks- take care of that body!
